• AA and VisitEngland assessment scheme modernisation (2024) The current classification schemes have changed to a much simpler format and structure to ensure quality assurance remains best in class. This includes a brand new entry-level scheme called Visitor Ready.
  
  
• A new county-wide destination management plan (DMP) has been unveiled, to help build a successful visitor economy for the future (April 2024)
  
  
• VisitEngland launches its new ‘Accessible and Inclusive Toolkit for Tourism Businesses’ in England on 3 December 2023
  
  
• New fire safety guidance comes into force on 1 October 2023 - for all small paying guest accommodation including Airbnb, glamping pods, B&B, self-catering etc.
