Shopping and Places to Eat in Penrith

Shopping in Penrith

Penrith offers a special shopping experience.  The town prides itself on its range of individual family-run shops with names and frontages unique to the town. Familiar high street names are here too and I love shopping in Penrith bag, photo courtesy of John Burrows Photographyseveral shops are in attractive pedestrianised areas.

A Penrith Specialist Shops leaflet is available, for a free copy please contact Penrith Tourist Information Centre.

For fresh local produce, speciality foods and organic produce visit Penrith's Farmers' Market.  The market is held on the third Tuesday of the month in Market Square.

Cumbria is renowned for its high quality food and hand crafted items and a good choice is available from Penrith's galleries and craft shops. Don't forget to try some famous Penrith toffee and fudge loved by the Royal Family.
