Description

She works with oil and also does etchings and other printmaking techniques. Abstracts and traditional landscapes are her main interest. She trained in London at the Camberwell School of Art, and did her first Masters in textiles and wove for many years at Wetheriggs. She currently has a studio at the Old Fire Station in Penrith.

Now in her 80s, Dorothy lives and works near Keswick, drawing inspiration from the west coast and the dramatic landscapes around Blencathra. Trained in etching at Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts, her practice includes painting, printmaking, and weaving – blending abstraction and realism in a distinctive, light-filled style.
