Patterdale Dog Day is a small show which runs on the Saturday of the August Bank Holiday weekend and is centered around an open sheep dog trials competition.

Patterdale Dog Day will take place on Saturday 29th August 2026.

As well as the dog trial there are many other attractions and shows to keep you entertained throughout the day.

Our traditional country show is situated in one of the most beautiful locations in England.The show field experiences the spectacular back drop of some of the most beautiful Lakeland fells including part of the Helvellyn massif.

Patterdale Dog Day is one of the few remaining genuinely traditional shows. The 2026 show will be the 120th show to be held at Patterdale and we hope you will join us to enjoy the day.

Come to our day, stay a while amid the beauty of this lovely Lakeland dale and mingle with hill farmers, their families, local residents and visitors from around the world. Take a while to listen to the ancient Cumbrian dialect whilst enjoying the attractions for a leisurely few hours.
