Penrith and Eden Museum
Robinson's School, Middlegate, Penrith, CA11 7PT.
We may be small but there is plenty going on at the Museum. Our exciting collections encompass Penrith and the surrounding Eden Valley. There are many fascinating stories to explore. Have you ever touched a rock carving created 5000 years ago or seen a 2000 year old Roman coin hoard? You can here.
We tell the tragic story of Percy Toplis and his trail of crime. He was finally shot dead at Plumpton.
'The Height of Ambition' and 'The Downfall of Pride' by local artist Jacob Thompson tell the story of local Mardale children involved in role play with unforeseen results! Upstairs is our fascinating geology display. The beauty of the specimens found through local mining awe inspiring.
During holidays we run exciting interactive craft workshops and there are trails and resources in the galleries. We are also a children's University Learning destination and Arts Award supporter.
We look forward to seeing you!
