How to get to Alston and the North Pennines

By road

From the east: A69 from Newcastle then A686 from Hexham, A689 from Durham.

From the west: A686 from Penrith.

From the north: A689 from Brampton and Carlisle.

From the South: M6 then A686 from Penrith, A1 (M), A66, B6277 from Barnard Castle.

By Bus
