How to Get to Eden

Eden is easily accessible by car through key road links including the M6, A66, A686 and A592.

By Train

The historic Settle to Carlisle railway runs through the heart of Eden, with stations at Armathwaite, Lazonby, Langwathby, Appleby and Kirkby Stephen. Steam trains can occasionally be seen travelling along this line.  The average journey time from London to Penrith is around 3.5 hours

By Air

Carlisle Lake District Airport

From 4 June 2018 passenger flights will operate to Carlisle Lake District Airport from London Southend, Belfast and Dublin. Flights can be booked on the Loganair website.

There will be eight flights per-day across the working week and a twelve at weekends, connecting Cumbria and the Lake District to London Southend Airport, Belfast City Airport and Dublin Airport.

Carlisle Lake District Airport is just 6 miles east of Carlisle city centre and 25 miles from Penrith. Penrith is just a 10 minute direct rail journey from Carlisle city centre railway station with a regular service operating throughout the day.

There will be a free shuttle bus running from Carlisle City centre (rail station, exact bus stop tbc) to the airport in time for each departure check-in and to bring passengers into the city centre from each arriving flight. Car hire is available at discount on the Loganair web site.  Taxis will also be available.

Eden is within a couple of hours drive from the following airports. All the  airports below have easy access to the M6 and offer car hire services. They all have excellent rail links.
