Leisure Activities in Penrith
Penrith Leisure Centre in Southend Road, has a swimming pool and teaching pool, a climbing wall suitable for both novices and experienced climbers, a fitness centre and indoor bowls hall. A new soft play area 'Jungle Jack's Adventure Soft Play' for children aged 10 years and under has now opened at Penrith Leisure Centre.
Parks and Open spaces
Visit Castle Park, open all year, where you can enjoy tennis, pitch and putt, crazy golf and bowls from March to October. The park is set out with rose gardens, flower beds and mature trees and has a playground and large grassy areas for energetic youngsters. Refreshments are available during the summer.
Castle Park, the Rotary Garden and the Coronation Gardens all have seats where you can enjoy a picnic in pleasant surroundings.
A woodland garden area has been created in St Andrews Churchyard which provides a green space to be enjoyed by all.
Penrith Playhouse stages local productions of plays. Concerts, recitals, blues and folk music take place at a variety of venues in the town. There is a cinema showing the latest releases and several bars.
