Description
The Baton of Hope is the UK’s biggest suicide prevention initiative. Travelling to towns and cities across the country, the baton acts as a powerful symbol of unity, hope, and conversation, encouraging communities to come together to challenge stigma and highlight the support available for those who need it.
In Penrith, the baton will arrive at Penrith Leisure Centre at 2:05pm, before making its way through the town centre along King Street, Devonshire Street, Middlegate, and Scotland Road, continuing its journey north to Carlisle.
A community event will also take place at Penrith Leisure Centre from 12pm – 4pm, offering activities, creative workshops, wellbeing stalls, and information from local organisations supporting mental health and wellbeing.
