Lost Words Fell Wander

A FREE walk over Knipescar Common to discover the nearby nature surrounding us, and to learn and share knowledge about Cumbria’s wildlife. We will visit a variety of habitats from limestone grassland to the riverside with Jamie from Cumbria Wildlife Trust.

Times: 10am – 1pm. Walk length: 4 miles.

Terrain: Moderate fell walk with wall stiles, grassy slopes and uneven ground, meaning that this walk is not fully accessible to all. Not suitable for wheelchairs. Dress for the weather and waterproof footwear. NO DOGS ALLOWED.

Lost Words Village Wander

A FREE walk suitable for all ages, to discover the nearby nature surrounding us, in Shap Village and to learn and share knowledge about Cumbria’s wildlife. We will see the variety of habitats found in residential areas and how wildlife adapts to them, with Jamie from Cumbria Wildlife Trust.

Times: 2.30pm – 4.30pm. Walk length: 2 miles.

Terrain:Gentle walk without stiles, but some unpaved/uneven ground. We will aim to make this walk as accessible to all, as possible. Not suitable for wheelchairs. Please email Jamie if you have any specific access queries or requirements. Dress for the weather and waterproof footwear. NO DOGS ALLOWED.
