Summer Meadows in mixed media with Frances Winder

An exciting workshop with this popular tutor, well known for her landscapes and depicting reflections on water, here we are anticipating the warmth of summer meadows to come!

Description

This course would develop tonal contrast, composition, and add elements of drama to your paintings of Summer Meadows. We explore colour banding to give you a feeling of distance and space, as well as placing strong foreground elements in both plant types and colour emphasis.

Suitable for all paint techniques, but I will demonstrate in acrylic and watercolour techniques. We also discuss the power of scale in your work, the power of large pieces or the intensity of a small, distilled image.

Bring the materials you are comfortable with, but also bring plenty of paper to experiment with during the course. Gouache would work as well.

The workshop is suitable for all abilities, if you are a beginner Frances recommends good paper to work on.

Frances writes, 'I work from sketches, backed up with photos if I need more information. Please bring reference material with you, sketches, photos or just ideas you like. This course is all about exploring techniques.'
