Art in the Landscape - Kirkby Stephen
Commissioned to celebrate the Millennium, Eden Benchmarks are carved stone sculptures. Out of the ten along the River Eden, "Watercut" is at Mallerstang and "Passage" at Stenkrith Park.
Renowned artist, Andy Goldsworthy has created a restored Sheepfold at Brough and Cone Pinfolds at Outhgill, Warcop and Church Brough.
The Poetry Path - twelve poems hand carved onto stone along a two mile circular route either side of the River Eden.
In the churchyard there is a stone sculpture by local artist James Popps who donated this piece to the town after carving it on the day the town celebrated winning the Calor® England Village of the Year, Charter Fair 2009.
