    Dawdles Walk Swingy Bridge

    This appears as the three bridges walk with Frank’s Bridge, Podgill Bridge and Swingy Bridge taking in some ancient lanes around the area and returning to Kirkby stephen via Nateby Road for optional refreshments.  Boots recommended.  We will go whatever the weather - please wear suitable clothing and footwear for the day - we will adapt walks when essential. DAWDLES Walk plus has an additional activity or interest during the walk.  All walks should take about an hour unless otherwise stated - DAWDLES Walk Little extra/Extra are longer and likely to be more strenuous or taken at a quicker pace.

    Britain has had its first astronaut aboard the International Space Station and it’s time for the children of the North West to give chase!  In this show the children will discover what it takes to blast off into space, survive in zero gravity and make it back home safely. Discussing aerodynamics, the effect of gravity and the four forces of flight, you may very well have Britain’s next astronaut beginning their training at Rheged.  In true Mad Science style, we end our amazing display of experiments with an incredible (controlled!) rocket fuel explosion!  £7 per person.
