Walkers are Welcome Annual Get Together: Kirkby Stephen Poetry Path

Location: Kirkby Stephen, Cumbria, CA17 4QN

Date: 11 October 2019

Opening Times: Meet at The Cloisters 10:30am

Our nationally acclaimed Poetry Path was devised by Dick Capel with East Cumbria Countryside Project and local residents in 2004.  There are twelve stones inscribed by lettering artist Pip Hall with poems by Meg Peacock associated with a year in the life of a hill farmer.  Today, the stones are gloriously camouflaged into the landscape.  2.5 miles.

We are delighted that Dick will be joining us on the walk to answer any questions.

The Poetry Path booklet priced at £2 is available at the volunteer run Upper Eden Visitor Centre.

Easy, boots recommended, allow extra time for stopping to read the poems.
