Location: Kirkby Stephen, Cumbria, CA17 4QN

Date: 18 April 2019

Opening Times: Meet The Cloisters, Kirkby Stephen 10:30am

For Maundy Thursday a short town walk stopping to look at religious buildings’ past and present and some of their history.  Very suitable for our town’s heritage, "Maun-" is from Old Norse, present of munu meaning shall or will; akin to Old English gemynd meaning mind. Optional refreshments after the walk. Optional refreshments after the walk.

We will go whatever the weather - please wear suitable clothing and footwear for the day - we will adapt walks when essential.
DAWDLES Walk plus has an additional activity or interest during the walk.  All walks should take about an hour unless otherwise stated - DAWDLES Walk Little extra/Extra are longer and likely to be more strenuous or taken at a quicker pace.

Where there is a car share, allow for extra time to reach destinations and return.  We usually find optional refreshments after our walk.  Everyone welcome, suggested donation £1 per walk towards expenses.  Our walks take place in or around the YDNP or North Pennines AONB.  Find us on Facebook:  For more information see  Boots are essential for these walks, others have hard surfaces.  We will be collecting litter along the way as part of #GBSpringClean during April
