Return for Penrith and Eden Museum and Tourist Information Centre

Eden District Council has announced that its Penrith Tourist Information Centre (TIC) and Penrith and Eden Museum will reopen from Thursday 27 August at 10am.

Deputy Leader, Councillor Mary Robinson commented, “We’re delighted to be able to open the doors of our Penrith TIC and the Penrith and Eden Museum once again, to visitors and local residents alike. We’ve done our utmost during the closure to offer a full service to our users and ensure their needs were met either online or by chatting in person over the phone. We are really pleased to welcome our visitors back to our beautiful district of Eden and we hope that they will once again enjoy the beautiful landscapes they love, the mix of outdoor activities and attractions, plus our wonderful local food and places to stay.

Joint Museum Curator Rebecca Short said: “We are thrilled to be reopening the museum after this difficult time. All galleries are open except for the geology gallery which is closed for now as part of a phased reopening, with safety being  our priority. We have however been able to extend the run of our exhibition ‘Remembering Eden’ until 2021, which is fantastic news. We look forward to welcoming everyone back to the museum.”
