C-Art Cumbrian Artist of the Year Exhibition starts today Rheged Centre.
The inaugural competition and exhibition in Rheged’s main gallery celebrates the breadth and depth of Cumbria's creative talent. Organised as part of C-Art, Cumbria’s largest visual arts event, the competition is open to any artist living and working in Cumbria.
The Spirit of Cumbria Holistic Festival is on at Rheged this weekend - 25th & 26th April.
Over 70 stands, including crystals, music, clothing, candles, health and beauty products, jewellery, tarot, astrology, therapies, art, healing, readings and more.
Free workshops, talks, music and demonstrations are included during the day so there are lots of exciting things to see and do – and plenty of good food and company too!
'Find's Day' at Penrith and Eden Museum on today.
Portable Antiquities Officer, Dot Broughton, will be visiting the museum to examine and identify your objects. Plus Archaeologist Annie Hamilton Gibney will bring and talk about some later material found during the ‘Fieldwalking in the Vale of Eden’ project and Museum Curator Sydney Chapman will show a selection of recent donations as well as the elephant’s tooth discovered in the moat at Penrith Castle, currently the subject of dating tests.
Entry to the museum in free.

The Tour Of BritainWe had a great recce of the Stage Five finish at Hartside Fell on Friday. Some amazing views looking back down from the summit of the road climbing up towards the finish. We're getting excited about the Tour of Britain coming to Eden!
